Graham Davis heads The Economist Group’s business in Japan and China. He joined The Economist Group in 2002, having previously worked for 13 years in investment banking in Tokyo, Frankfurt and London. In Tokyo, he participates in Corporate Network and Economist Conferences events, as well as customised briefings with senior executives on current political and economic trends in Japan. His briefings have focused on political and economic changes in Japan at the macro level, as well as on the analysis of changes in corporate behaviour for both Japanese companies operating abroad and for foreign companies engaged in business in Japan. His other areas of expertise include analysis on the changing economic landscape in Asia, how it impacts Japan and vice versa. He has spoken at corporate planning and forecasting meetings in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore and Shanghai and is a frequent commentator on various television networks across the region. Mr Davis received his undergraduate degree in politics, philosophy and economics from Oxford University, and his master’s degree in advanced Japanese studies from the University of Sheffield.
