Harald is responsible for managing and executing custom research projects for clients in the EMEA region. Based in London, he has worked on various benchmarking and indexing projects covering diverse topics such as the environmental sustainability of cities, the efficiency of countries’ transport infrastructure or global peace. Harald has worked on government tenders as well as with corporate clients.

Before joining the Economist Intelligence Unit in 2008, Harald worked in the political department for the Americas of the Foreign Ministry of Austria. In this role he contributed to the regular analysis of political developments in Latin America, producing briefings, press releases and speeches for Austria’s highest political levels.

Harald has a master’s degree in international business from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration and a postgraduate in international economics and international affairs from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
