Manuel is a Senior Economist at the EIU's Custom Research business, mainly focusing on bespoke strategic research projects that also require technical input or apply complex methodologies. In a global role, Manuel supports all regional analyst teams and has managed and contributed to research projects across a variety of industries. Manuel has worked on assignments in Europe, the Middle East, the US and Asia. He also regularly joins sales meetings to support the business' regional commercial teams.

Prior to joining Custom research, Manuel worked at the Economics Unit, the EIU's in-house modeling and forecasting team, where he was responsible for maintaining and further developing forecast methodologies that are used by the regional analysts. Before joining the EIU, Manuel worked as a project manager for a strategic risk consultancy as well as a project manger for a global development consultancy. During his studies Manuel gained several months of work experience in Iran and Bolivia and also spent an exchange year in Spain. He holds an MSc in International Economic Studies from the University of Maastricht, The Netherlands and a BSc in International Business Administration from the University of Graz, Austria.
