Robert Powell joined the Country Analysis department of the Economist Intelligence Unit in May 2001. He is responsible for reports on the Middle East, but also focuses on wider issues, in particular, macroeconomic policy and the hydrocarbons sector. Robert moved from London to New York in 2007 and plays an important role in presenting the Economist Intelligence Unit's views on the global economy to clients and industry leader. He also maintains very active contacts with the media, including frequent TV interviews for the BBC, Bloomberg, CNBC, ABC and CNN and coverage by major global newspapers.
