Steven Leslie is Managing Editor, Financial Services Briefing, the Economist Intelligence Unit's online information service on that industry. In that role, he writes articles for and partly oversees the Industry Briefing website, edits our financial services forecasts and profiles and participates in special projects. Steven joined the Economist Intelligence Unit in 1998 and has held several positions in the company. From mid-2005 to late 2007 he was Director of Custom Research in the Americas, a post in which he organised and oversaw many special projects. From 1999 to mid-2005 he was Managing Editor of "Country Finance", a series of annual reports on the world's principle national financial markets. He also wrote for ViewsWire, our electronic daily briefing service. He started work at the Economist Intelligence Unit as Asia editor during the financial crisis of the late 1990s. Before joining the Economist Intelligence Unit Steven studied politics and economics at the University of Chicago and Columbia University.
